Wiscon Supports NIAF 30th Anniversary Gala Dinner

For three decades the National  Italian American Foundation (NIAF) has been dedicated to preserving Italian heritage and culture and celebrating the positive influence Italian Americans have had on this great nation. Wiscon Corporation donated $10,000 to the organization and attended the 30th anniversary gala dinner, held October 15, 2005, in Washington, D.C.

Thirty years ago, NIAF’s founders envisioned a non-profit organization that could be the advocate in Washington, D.C., for the millions of Americans who trace their roots to Italy. NIAF began by awarding a few scholarships a year and hosting small events on Capitol Hill, and has evolved into the premiere ethnic organization in the country, with an extensive grants and scholarships program complemented by numerous exciting programs for students of all ages. NIAF now serves as an umbrella for other Italian-American groups across the country, and a catalyst for many important initiatives. The evenings honorees were Paul Otellini, president and CEO of Intel Corporation; General Peter Pace, chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff; Michelle Peluso, president of Travelocity; and Peter Secchis, chairman of the board of Universal Forest Products, Inc.
