Cheese Tasting Raises More Than $30K for Italian Art School
On Tuesday, October 11, 2005, Wiscon collaborated efforts with Spiaggia restaurant in Chicago to raise funds for renowned humanitarian, Angelo Frosio, and his art school for the handicapped. Spiaggia hosted a wine and cheese tasting, featuring cheeses brought by Frosio, including the world’s oldest cheese, which was buried underground for eight years. Pieces of this cheese were auctioned off that evening, raising close to $3,000. Wiscon Corporation president, Natale Caputo, presented Frosio with a $25,000 check on behalf of Wiscon.
“I want Angelo to know how much we appreciate the work that he does,” said Caputo.
The total proceeds of the evening came to more than $30,000.
